I will NOT give up MY DIET MOUNTAIN DEW!
September 16, 2019
On
Monday we got to go to Costco hallelujah!!! And on Monday night we did exchanges and I got
to go with Sister Wilkinson! She is so cute and nice! We had messaged on
Instagram before we left, but usually exchanges are 24 hours but we found out
at like 10:30 when we were already split off and going to bed that the next day
on Tuesday we had a meeting from 1-5! So, we just got to teach Betty the word
of wisdom which she has already been living for like 10 years and after we
taught it all I asked her if she had any more questions left and she goes..
"You already know what I'm going to say.. I WILL NOT GIVE UP MY DIET
MOUNTAIN DEW!" Haha good thing you don't have to ahah, I seriously love
her so much she is a character. We did some other contacting and then we had to
meet up with our comps at like 12 because the meeting was about 45 minutes away
so it was basically a little sleep over but still saw really good things come
from it and learned alot when we studied together!
Also, I am already just
being that kind of awkwardly outgoing missionary looking for any opportunities
to talk to people.. so sis Wickham and I were knocking around in our apartment
complex and this guy walked out of his apt down the hall from us and I looked
at him and cleared my throat like coughing a bit and I just kept looking at him
(idk why, I'm just weird) and he looked over and I just said hi. And he was
like uhhh hi and walked away. It was the funniest thing hahah I don't know if I
explained it right but just believe me it was awkward and hilarious! Also
another awkward missionary experience.. so I opened this glass door to get the
real door to knock on it and as I had the glass door open someone opened the
real door and I was caught so off guard and holding the door halfway open and
my companion was on the other side of it and I was like uhhh hi...so how are
ya??.. and she was like um good? And ya so that was fun, she wasn't
interested.. ahahha it's fine , its great!!
Anyway we have seen so many blessings this week. And so so so many tender mercies!!
On Wednesday night we were going and meeting our neighbors and this dude named Mike let us talk to him while he was rolling his joint, super nice guy! He's super open and just overall a free person who loves giving back to his community (and smoking THE Marijuana ahahhaha) we are super excited about him, he let us share a video about families and how important they all and he agreed 100 percent with everything we said! Might have to teach the word of wisdom next lol.
On Friday
we met a guy that said he just got out of jail and was looking to restart his
life, he was almost crying asking us why he had never met us before. He has the
cutest family and his wife looks like lady gaga (the pretty version) Haha he asked if we
could go down to commerce city and we said yeah Haha we bike and he was like
danggggg you girls are bad, in the hood? I grew up there, not a good place.
Welp, it's okay hahaha nervously laughing.
On Friday night we had dinner at Betty's and it was her daughter's birthday who passed away so we brought a little cake and candles and sang! It was so cute! We promised we'd come back in a year and a half when I'm off my mission and take her to a Rockies game because her daughter in law left her home and went and she was sad! Her daughter in law ,Sister Crose got a new puppy and every time we go over there we get to hold and love him. He's perfect.
SATURDAY
BETTY GOT BAPTIZED!!!! It was so so good!!! It was so cool and different
because my companion and I got to help her in and out of the font and stay in
there when she was baptized. That does not happen a lot or almost never that Sisters
get to get in the font during a baptism! It was so special. We are so happy for
her.
Had my first door slam on Saturday night, just motivated me to do
more work ahha. Not Nice!
Thank you for all of your
support! I appreciate it!
