Leaving for Denver!!
AUGUST 27, 2019
I LEAVE TOMORROW TO DENVER!!! WOOHOO
Last Tuesday night after pday we had a devotional and guess who spoke?! ELDER DAVID BEDNAR!!! It was so so so good! Although right when he started I dropped my metal water bottle and it rolled all the way down the stairs... yep that would happen to me, it was very embarrassing.
Something I studied this week was Alma 22. It is just like our modern day missionary work but its Aaron teaching king Lamoni’s fathers, I really like the end of verse 15.. "15 And it came to pass that after Aaron had expounded these things unto him, the king said: What shall I do that I may have this eternal life of which thou hast spoken? Yea, what shall I do that I may be born of God, having this wicked spirit rooted out of my breast, and receive his Spirit, that I may be filled with joy, that I may not be cast off at the last day? Behold, said he, I will give up all that I possess, yea, I will forsake my kingdom, that I may receive this great joy." THE GOSPEL BRINGS SO MUCH JOY THAT A KING... A KING!! WAS WILLING TO GIVE UP EVERYTHING TO HAVE THIS TYPE OF JOY IN HIS LIFE!! how cool is that?!
So today I am doing my sisters nails (shellac) and for y’all that do not know you have to use alcohol to finish them and when I got to the MTC I noticed all of mine was gone and I didn't want to buy a whole huge new bottle yet so I went to the doctor’s office and asked the lady if I could have a bottle of alcohol and she was like huh?? It was funny but I explained and she went and got a used water bottle and stole some alcohol from the dentist. She came back and gave me this water bottle and it was really funny and so nice of her!
There is some way good...obviously nonalcoholic sangria here at the MTC store ahhh so Sis Meacham and I had to get some! It is all everyone talks about! I highly recommend it. Oh and sis Meacham had a little dread when she came here and decided to take it out so she like ripped out parts of it, so pic below. Bahahaha
On Saturday I had an idea to have our district pull out our phones and go to family tree and do the relatives around me and we were all related somehow which is so cool! One elder is my 4th cousin! It was super fun.
On Sunday I did not get picked to speak on anything thankfully! I made it the whole three Sundays here not randomly getting picked heck ya! But my comp and I did get asked to do a lesson on Sunday on the creation of the fall of Adam and Eve and how those tie into the atonement of Jesus Christ, we had time to prepare for it and it went way good!! Then during doctrinal discussion some elders were throwing around a sticky ball and they accidentally threw it in my hair and yeah long story short I think I lost 2394 pieces of hair because elders were trying to get it out and are not gentle with girl hair haha!
We had to say good bye to all the elders on Monday and Tuesday and it was SO SAD!!! I miss them already so much. But they're in the field so that's awesome!!
On Monday I went to get a free haircut and I did not think I needed very much off but they ended up cutting like 3 inches off so that was fun. Also, I pretended to lick lotion off my hand and i actually did.. it was the grossest thing ever and my mouth felt like my hands do when they have lotion on, it was so weird and gross so that was interesting. Lots of fun this week, but also some way super spiritual times. I did not like the MTC when I got here because I felt like I was in a box here but I then realized that this box is one of the most protected box in the US! How cool is that and I have learned so so much here so I'll miss the things that have happened here and the people here but not really the place if that makes since! Thanks for all of your love and prayers, I appreciate it!
